Clinical Case (Study and Observation) - Leishmaniasis Disease

LEISHMANIASIS DISEASE
DERMATOLOGICAL WOUND

 

LEISHMANIASIS CUTANEOUS-MUCOUS TEGUMENTAR
also denominated AMERICAN or Ulcer of Bauru.

Has the following characteristics: 
- infectious disease, of chronic and not contagious evolution, 
- ethiologic agent : Leishmania (protozoan), divided in several sub-species being most frequent
L. brasiliensis brasiliensis
,    
- it attacks skin, mucous and cartilages.

The treatment clinical classic of the pathology should be made. 

It is important the diagnosis diferencial. 

CLINICAL MANIFESTATION

Present the typical ulceration with infiltrated border and granular fund, seropurulent exsudate.  

The cutaneous lesions can present secondary complications, as local infection. 

TOPICAL TREATMENT
DERMATOLOGICAL WOUND 

In the topical treatment of these lesions it can be used several products, can be used: silver sulfadiazine with cerio nitrate, enzymatic ointment (collagenase, fibrolynosin), hydrogel, linoleic
acid
, ricinoleic a
cid, bioperoxoil, Aloe vera, elicine, papain, albumin, non adherent gauzes, calcium and
sodium alginate
ecc.

The change period will depend on the chosen product.
